The DARE Nigeria Conference supported by the European Union brought together young Nigerians to discuss key issues around Job Creation, employment and Entrepreneurship, Peace and Security, Governance and Democracy as well as Education. The overarching issue is the youth while other key cross cutting issues are inclusiveness, gender equity and good governance.
The DARE Nigeria 2017 conference attracted 465 participants (246 males and 219 females); had 25 top-notch guest speakers and 1 group of professional dancers performed on the DARE stage. The event had 2 panel discussions, 2 tea conversations and 4 pop-up performances.
#DARENigeria- Leveraging on Social Media: The DARE conference although a physical and offline event but also had a lot of activities online. Mentimeter.com was also used to interface with audience right at the venue of the event. The social media was used to broadcasting information and happenings concerning the event. 3 social media influencers where at the venue tweeting and engaging online users who are joining the event online. Notably, the #DARENigeria hashtag trend on twitter for about 3 hours during the event period.
