This is a campaign by civil society towards the completion of the National Library. Youthhubafrica led a coalition of Civil Society organisations and demand action on the lack of completion of the National Library of Nigeria building located on plot 35, Cadastral Zone A, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
National Library Courtesy Visit
The contract for the construction of the Building was awarded in 2006, by the Federal Ministry of Education (being the supervisory Ministry to National Library of Nigeria), with a contract sum of 8.59 billion Naira, with a completion period of 22 months, the building after over 15 years since it’s open forbid (in 2002), and 11 years since construction began (in 2006), is yet to be completed and open for National use. YouthHubAfrica in coalition other Youth Led CSOs based in Abuja is working with the National Library and using the power granted by the power of Freedom of Information Act, to request for and pursued the Government to make the Completion of the National Library priority for the benefits of Nigerian citizens.
