The Changemakers Academy (Fellowship) Program is an initiative aimed at building the capacity of young Nigerian women to increase their engagement and participation in leadership. Nigeria, with its vast population and a significant youth population, is in dire need of amplifying the voice of young leaders, especially women.
The Changemakers Academy (Fellowship) Program seeks to create awareness and build the capacity of young Nigerian women by equipping them with the necessary skills to increase their engagement and participation in leadership. By establishing and amplifying their voices, our program will encourage young female youth leaders, progressive religious and cultural leaders to participate actively in leadership roles.
The project’s core activities and milestones include creating a course curriculum for the fellowship, rolling out a call for participation in the fellowship, and commencing a five-month training program for selected fellows from the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Through our Youth Voices initiative, we’ll support the Nigerian youth to challenge existing norms and increase their engagement and participation in the country’s leadership.
We envision a sustainable future for our fellowship by leveraging existing groups across the FCT that YouthHubAfrica has established relationships with to harness the skills of young female leaders continually. The Changemakers Academy (Fellowship) Program is committed to gender and social inclusion; therefore, applicants will be carefully sourced and selected women, including PWDs.
