Advancing Universal Health Coverage through Gender Justice Advocates in FCT

With the support of Christain Aid, YHA established a coalition of 30 gender justice advocates in communities across FCT. From a selection of over 100 applications, the 30 gender advocates were selected and trained by 7 facilitators for 3 days by 7 facilitators for 3 days on advocacy:

• Use of media for advocacy
• Gender justice
• Coalition building
• and sustaining movements as well as information on the FCT-Health Insurance Scheme.

Following the training, the advocates conducted community visits in Bwari and AMAC local government areas, Engaging the youth and community leaders on the need and benefits of accessing quality health care services.
