The YouthHubAfrica Media Internship Program (MIP) is a flagship capacity-building initiative designed to equip young creatives with the skills, mentorship, and practical exposure needed to thrive in the media and communications sector.

In 2025 (Cohort 4), the program selected 14 outstanding young people from a highly competitive pool of 790 applicants, reflecting both the growing demand for youth-focused media training and YouthHubAfrica’s ability to attract and nurture exceptional talent across Nigeria.

Over an intensive four-day training program, participants received hands-on instruction in photography, videography, storytelling, content creation, strategic communications, and using social media for social impact. The sessions were led by experienced media and development professionals, combining technical expertise with real-world insights to prepare participants for the evolving media landscape.

Mentorship and professional development were central to the MIP experience. Participants engaged in one-on-one and group mentorship sessions with program alumni, gaining guidance on career pathways, professional growth, and leveraging media as a tool for advocacy and social change. At the conclusion of the program, five outstanding participants were placed with partner non-profit organizations for six-month internships, providing valuable industry experience and pathways for career advancement, while all participants received certificates of completion.

Through MIP Cohort 4 (2025), YouthHubAfrica continues to strengthen youth leadership, build media literacy, and amplify youth voices in development and social change. The program is building a strong pipeline of skilled young media professionals equipped to drive impact through storytelling and strategic communication.
